The Yankees just can’t catch a break with their pitching staff this season. First Jordan Montgomery was sent for surprise Tommy John surgery, then Masahiro Tanaka strained both hamstrings. Now we hear that Jonathan Loaisiga was sent for an MRI on his right shoulder. There was no indication that he was injured, and the Yankees had even mentioned the idea of calling him up for Monday’s doubleheader. The MRI revealed right shoulder inflammation, and he will be seen by Dr. Ahmad on Monday. At this rate, Brian Cashman is going to need to trade for three starting pitchers, just to be safe.
