NEW YORK — It’s looking like the Yankees will be getting two of their injured regulars back sometime this weekend.
Catcher Gary Sanchez took another step toward finally coming off the disabled list Wednesday night by playing another Triple-A rehab game for the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders.
The 2017 All-Star might be back with the Yankees by Saturday.
Meantime, shortstop Didi Gregorius made strides at Yankee Stadium before the Yankees’ 4-1 loss to the Chicago White Sox. The Yankees appear to be targeting him for a weekend this weekend, as well.
If the Yankees wait until Saturday, they won’t have to dump anyone from to activate Sanchez and/or Gregorius because it’ll be Sept.
