Remember when the Marlins pummeled the Yankees 9-1 and Luis Cessa exited the game with an oblique strain? Two months later, he has finally recovered. Just in time for another Yankees reliever to hit the disabled list.
Prior to today’s game, the Yankees announced that they activated Cessa, and placed A.J. Cole on the disabled list with a left neck strain. Cole pitched well after joining the team towards the end of April (0.69 ERA, 10.4 K/9), but the Yankees seemingly forgot he existed in June.
