The Yankees postponed their home opener against the Tampa Bay Rays after a spring storm covered the field at Yankee Stadium with several inches of snow Monday morning.
The game will be played on Tuesday instead, when both teams had a scheduled day off.
The makeup game will be a late-afternoon start, with first pitch scheduled for 4:05 p.m. Monday’s had been set for 1:05 p.m., but with snow still falling in midmorning, the team called it off.
The Yankees split their first series of the season, winning two games and losing two at Toronto. Tampa Bay lost three of four to the Boston Red Sox.
