Things didn’t go well the last time the Yankees took on the Red Sox in a four-game set, all of five days ago. This series got off to a better start, as the Yankees won a 4-2 contest in which all the scoring came in the first frame. Perhaps most importantly, the Yankees got another solid outing from a starting pitcher, just what they need after last week’s debacle.

This was a well-pitched game, and while Boston starter Eduardo Rodriguez didn’t end up with a particularly pretty line, he did a fine job limiting the Yankee lineup outside of one major mistake.
