Yankees Highlights: Bombers hit Justin Verlander, lose anyway

The Yankees had every opportunity to take game one from the Astros. They overcame their starting pitching equivalent of kryptonite, received a fine start from Masahiro Tanaka, and turned it over to the bullpen. Instead they blew a late lead and dropped the opener. That’s not fun!

Winner of the Game

Credit goes to the Yankees offense for actually scoring off of Justin Verlander. The team put up three runs against the Astros ace. An Aaron Judge home run and two RBI from Clint Frazier and Luke Voit proved enough to drive Verlander from the game.
