The Yankees are among several teams inquiring about the availability of Royals left-handed reliever Tim Hill.
Hill, who turns 30 in February, is entering his third big-league season and posted solid numbers this past year when he appeared in 46 games with a 3.63 ERA and struck out 39 in 39 2/3 innings.
Lefties hit .186 with a .465 OPS against Hill. In two big-league seasons, lefties have batted .211 with a .524 OPS.
Like a lot of clubs, the Royals, who need a third baseman, have an interest what the Yankees do with Miguel Andujar and Gio Urshela.
