ORLANDO, Fla. -- It may not be the biggest deal to Yankees general manager Brian Cashman.
But for his owner Hal Steinbrenner, it sure means something.
At the end of the General Managers Meetings on Wednesday, Steinbrenner was asked whether Alex Rodriguez had reached out to him about becoming the team's manager after it fired Joe Girardi and if he could ever imagine A-Rod serving as skipper.
Steinbrenner said no, Rodriguez hadn't reached out, and then explained what might worry him most about a candidate like the retired slugger: lack of experience managing or coaching in any form.
