The New York Yankees faced off against the Philadelphia Phillies on Thursday afternoon in an un-televised game, and thank goodness it was kept away from the masses.
In an unfortunate contest, the Yankees were thrashed by the Phillies, who posted 15 runs and didn’t allow a single attempt at recovery. In fact, the Yankees totaled just three hits while Philadelphia earned 12 in the loss.
The Bombers walked out Deivi Garcia as their starter for the contest, and he struggled to get going early on. Garcia had flashes of brilliance in 2020 as a supplement to injury, and the Yankees feel as though he will be a significant part to the starting rotation moving forward.
