Yankees GM jokes he's getting coal from his pitching coach

NASHVILLE – Brian Cashman arrived in Nashville with a solid bullpen and a questionable second-base situation. By the time he left, those situations had been reversed.

The addition of Starlin Castro gives the Yankees their second baseman of the future, pairing him with Didi Gregorius to form a young middle-infield combination for at least the next four years.

But the acquisition came at a cost, as the Yankees shipped off righthanded swingman Adam Warren to the Cubs. Wednesday, Cashman dealt lefty reliever Justin Wilson to the Tigers for a pair of starting pitching prospects, addressing the Yankees’ need for depth in that area – albeit at a price.
