NEW YORK -- The Yankees have made a $100,000 donation to support the relief efforts associated with Hurricane Michael, the team announced on Tuesday. The contributions include $50,000 to the American Red Cross and $50,000 to the Salvation Army.
"The devastation caused by Hurricane Michael in the panhandle of Florida is overwhelming," said Yankees general partner/vice chairperson Jennifer Steinbrenner Swindal. "Floridians are resilient and strong, and we want to offer our assistance and support in this time of serious need. We extend our deepest sympathies to the great many lives that have been impacted by the storm."
