NEW YORK -- The last of the Yankees' single-digit uniform numbers will officially be removed from circulation on Mother's Day, when the organization will retire Derek Jeter's No. 2 and unveil his Monument Park plaque prior to Sunday's 7:35 p.m. ET game against the Houston Astros.
All Yankee Stadium gates will open to guests with valid tickets on Sunday beginning at 5:30 p.m., with ceremonies scheduled to begin at approximately 6:15 p.m., live on Yankees.com and MLB.com. Jeter will be the 22nd player in franchise history to have his number retired, and the first since teammates Bernie Williams, Jorge Posada and Andy Pettitte during the 2015 season.
