Yankees’ Gary Sanchez Leaves Game With a Strained Biceps

BALTIMORE — Gary Sanchez, a rookie of the year candidate last season and a power hitter expected to anchor the middle of the Yankees’ lineup this season, left Saturday’s game against Baltimore with a strained right biceps. Sanchez’s injury came the same day that another of the Yankees’ young sluggers, first baseman Greg Bird, was scratched from the lineup with a sore foot.

Sanchez appeared to have been injured while batting in the fifth inning of Saturday’s game against the Baltimore Orioles at Camden Yards. After fouling off a 3-2 pitch from Kevin Gausman, Sanchez could be seen flexing his right hand and arm.
