The New York Yankees have won seven in a row after Tuesday night’s drubbing of the Toronto Blue Jays, which, we have to say, took us by surprise.
It was a must-win game for the Jays, but the Yankees’ bats once again proved to be far too potent. Then again, we must mention the pitching staff, which took on an unexpected difficult task when Jameson Taillon left the game with an injury after just 2.1 innings of work.
Collectively, the bullpen surrendered just one run on two hits and three walks across 6.2 innings. Throw in seven runs of support — yes, another epic bomb from Giancarlo Stanton that drove in three of those — and you’ve got yourself a satisfying 7-2 win.
