Today marked the return of Ivan Nova.
After a scoreless first inning that included warned benches after Alex Rodriguez was hit by a pitch, the Yankees got it going in their second inning against Cole Hamels. Chris Young started the second inning with a single to center field. John Ryan Murphy walked and Didi Gregorius tried to sacrifice himself to advance the runners. Fortunately for the Yankees, a little miscommunication in front of the plate made the throw to first late, loading the bases with no outs.
