New York Yankees 12 – Arizona Diamondbacks 2
In his major league debut, Chad Green had to bring his bat as the Yankees go NL rules in Arizona.
After a scoreless inning by the Yankees against Robbie Ray, the Diamondbacks came to bat against Chad Green. After retiring the first batter, star Paul Goldschmidt took the rookie deep for a solo home run. Two more batters got on base with a pair of hits but a ground out kept the damage to one.
While the Yankees remained silent on the bats, the Diamondbacks were not slowed down by Green.
