Yankees Game 162: Wieters goes deep twice to end Yankees season in defeat

Baltimore Orioles 2 – New York Yankees 5

For the last game of the season, the Yankees looked to take the final 2016 series against the Baltimore Orioles.

After two scoreless innings by Luis Cessa, the Orioles manufactured a run in the third inning. After a ground-rule double by Jonathan Schoop, he advanced to third on a ground out and scored on a sacrifice fly by J.J. Hardy to put the Orioles ahead by one. In the fourth inning, Mark Trumbo reached on an infield single with two outs and Matt Wieters made the inning count with a two-run home run to right field to extend the Orioles lead to three.
