It took much longer than expected, but Brandon Drury is finally back in The Bronx.
The infielder, who began the season as the Yankees’ third baseman before being sidelined by blurred vision and migraines, was called up from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre prior to Friday’s game against the Red Sox. He’ll take Luis Cessa’s spot on the roster after the right-hander was optioned following Wednesday’s loss in Philadelphia.
The move had been expected since Boston is starting three lefties this weekend and the Yankees’ first-base duo of Greg Bird and Neil Walker has been dreadful against southpaws this season.
