NEW YORK — Greg Bird had maybe his roughest day of a rough stretch — and Yankees fans on Twitter let him have it.
Bird went 0-for-4 — and came up small in a big situation — in the Yankees’ 3-1 loss to the Rays at Yankee Stadium on Thursday afternoon.
The 25-year-old popped up with the bases loaded and no out on the first pitch he saw from reliever Adam Kolarek, who had a 6.00 ERA entering the game and hadn’t yet thrown a pitch.
