HOUSTON — After flushing a three-run lead in the seventh inning, the Yankees rallied for three runs in the ninth and finished a seven-game road trip with a scintillating win over the Astros on Thursday.
Trailing by two going into the ninth inning, the Yankees scored three and watched Aroldis Chapman record the final three outs of a 5-4 victory in front of a stunned Minute Maid Park crowd of 34,838.
Going home 5-2 on the trip that opened with a three-game sweep of the Angels in Anaheim wouldn’t have been bad deal.
