Yankees End West Coast Trip With Another Defeat in Oakland

OAKLAND, Calif. — On the Yankees’ West Coast swing, two of their pitchers had gone on the disabled list, their cleanup hitter had missed a game because of an allergic reaction to breakfast, two of their hottest hitters had left a game with injuries and — oh, yes — they were mired in their longest losing streak of the season. It was hardly a surprise, then, that a police shooting shut down parts of San Francisco’s Bay Bridge and delayed the Yankees’ arrival to the ballpark on Sunday morning.

“It’s just kind of the way the trip has went,” Manager Joe Girardi said.
