Yankees’ Edwin Encarnacion knows poor postseason will ‘hurt him for a long time’

The 2019 season is finally over for the New York Yankees, and it comes without any postseason hardware. On Saturday, the Houston Astros closed out the American League Championship Series in six games over the Bombers.

It came after José Altuve smacked a two-run walk-off home run off closer Aroldis Chapman in the bottom of the ninth inning.

One of the main individuals that contributed to the Yanks’ series defeat was designated hitter and infielder Edwin Encarnacion. In the six matchups, Encarnacion combined for just a .056/.227/.111 slash line.
