Chris Carter has been struggling at the plate for most of the season, as hit hit .204 with eight homers, 23 RBIs and 70 strikeouts in 167 at-bats over 57 games, 44 as a starter.
Why dump Carter after he was 0-for-4 with three strikeouts on Friday night as opposed to a week or two earlier?
The Yankees kept waiting for Carter to get hot and hit a bunch of homers like he did last season when batting .206 with 41 homers, 94 RBIs and 206 strikeouts in 546 at-bats playing 160 games for the Milwaukee Brewers.
