The Yankees landed a do-it-all prospect in the first round of the MLB Draft on Monday.
Switch-hitting catcher Anthony Seigler went to the Yankees with the No. 23 pick and was in attendance to hear his name called at the draft in Secaucus, N.J.
Seigler — a Georgia high school prospect who is committed to play at Florida if he doesn’t sign with the Yankees — is known for his wide-ranging repertoire, though he’s expected to catch in the big leagues. The U18 U.S. National Team member also has experience pitching right- and left-handed and playing in the outfield and infield.
