NEW YORK -- Yankees shortstop Didi Gregorius was the toast of more-than-half-empty Yankee Stadium on a cold and rainy home opener that probably only was played because Tuesday followed Monday's snowout.
Gregorius was called out of the dugout for two curtain calls during an eight-RBI performance that topped Derek Jeter or any other Yankees shortstop's best single-game run production.
We've talking ever here.
And all the while, 2017 National League MVP/Major League home run leader Giancarlo Stanton went through a Yankees debut that he'll never, ever forget in this 11-4 win over the Tampa Bay Rays.
