Yankees shortstop Didi Gregorius wasn't the people's choice for the last American League All-Star spot.
The Final Vote went to Kansas City Royals third baseman Mike Moustakas, MLB announced Thursday night.
"This is huge," Moustakas said in a call-in interview with the MLB Network. "It's definitely an honor to be selected as an All-Star and join all those other guys."
With Gregorius missing out of a first All-Star opportunity, the Yankees will settle for five representatives in next Tuesday's All-Star Game, which will be played at Marlins Park in Miami.
