The $300 million dollar shortstop was booed mercifully and went 1-4 with a double in the Yankees 5-2 win on Monday afternoon. When asked about the boos, Manny Machado went with the most logical answer — telling the New York Post:
“I get booed everywhere I go,” Machado said. “Great players get booed, so it happens.”
Four months after signing the fifth-largest contract in sports history, one question remains: Did the Yankees made the right decision on passing on the 26-year-old superstar?
With the Yankees plagued by injuries this season, it would have been nice to see Machado leading the Bombers offense.
