Kendrys Morales is off the injured list, and out of The Bronx.
The Yankees designated Morales for assignment, announcing the move Tuesday morning. Morales had been on the IL with a left calf strain.
Over a 19-game stint with the Yankees, he had largely disappointed, slashing .177/.320/.242 with one home run. The Yankees picked Morales up off the scrap heap in mid-May, trading Oakland a player to be named later or cash for him.
In correspondence, the Yankees are calling up Stephen Tarpley, adding a left-handed arm to their bullpen. Tarpley has 6 1/3 MLB innings to his name this year and has struggled with an 8.
