Ronald Torreyes, the odd-man out on the Yankees after the team claimed pitcher Parker Bridwell earlier this week, has an old new home.
The Yankees dealt the 26-year-old infielder to the Chicago Cubs in exchange for a player to be named later or cash considerations on Wednesday. Torreyes was part of the Cubs organization for two seasons before being dealt to Houston in 2013. He has also spent time with the Dodgers in 2015.
Torreyes, a popular member of the New York clubhouse over the past three seasons, saw 221 games of action with the Yankees, batting .
