Andujar, 23, seemed destined to get cut when the Yankees trade for Brandon Drury, who will be the Opening Day third baseman. The team will want Andujar to improve his defense before giving him a regular job in the majors.
Meanwhile, Florial, 20, stuck around so long because of injuries to Clint Frazier (concussion) and Jacoby Ellsbury (strained right oblique). Florial represented the Yankees in the All-Star Futures Game last year and will probably start the season at High-A Tampa, though he could also start at Double-A Trenton.
