Yankees' Chase Headley rips ump, ump rips back, after helmet-spiking ejection

NEW YORK -- A simple question between former teammates sparked a helmet-spiking ejection for Yankees third baseman Chase Headley.

Headley was ejected by home plate umpire Adrian Johnson after Headley took a ball off the fingers while squaring to bunt in the seventh inning of Friday's 5-1 loss to the Houston Astros.

Headley returned to the box without issue and said he was making no argument with Johnson about taking first base. Instead, a question by Astros catcher -- and former teammate -- Brian McCann prompted a reply from Headley.
