Yankees can exhale after Gleyber Torres injury scare

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Not every X-ray or MRI exam taken of a Yankees’ body part reveals an injury that lands the player on the injured list.

Fortunately, that was the case with Gleyber Torres, who had his right arm X-rayed after getting hit with a pitch by Rays pitcher Casey Sadler in the eighth inning of the Yankees’ win at Tropicana Field on Friday night.

Torres remained in the game, but feared there was something wrong with his arm after he was drilled on the inside of the elbow.

“You get hit by a pitch in the elbow, that’s not a good feeling,’’ said Torres, who was in Saturday’s lineup and playing with a sleeve on his arm.
