It’s a day that ends in a Y, so that means the Yankees are reshuffling their roster. Earlier today the team called up infielder Thairo Estrada. As a corresponding move, the club optioned Adonis Rosa back to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
Estrada, 23, hit .280/.321/.520 with three home runs (116 wRC+) in limited time with the Yankees earlier this season. He played somewhat below that level at Triple-A, however, batting to a 94 wRC+ across 255 plate appearances with the RailRiders. Adding Estrada to the roster helps give depth to the Yankees’ bench, as the team had been playing with 14 pitchers.
