The Yankees on Tuesday made a series of roster moves, recalling Luis Cessa, James Pazos and Rob Refsnyder. In corresponding moves, they optioned pitchers Chad Green and Conor Mullee to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and designated reliever Phil Coke for assignment.
Green started for the Yankees in Monday's 12-2 loss to the D-backs at Chase Field. He threw 79 pitches over four-plus innings, allowing four earned runs, including two homers, with five strikeouts and one walk.
Green struggled during Spring Training, but he showed promise with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre early this season and was called up to give the rotation an extra day's rest.
