Yankees call up hard-throwing righty Domingo Acevedo from Double-A

The Yankees made a Domingo-for-Domingo swap on Saturday.

Domingo Acevedo, a 24-year-old right-hander who’s currently the team’s No. 7 prospect per MLBPipeline, was called up from Double-A Trenton prior to the Yankees’ game against the New York Mets at Yankee Stadium.

In the meantime, Acevedo will take Domingo German’s spot on the big league roster, as the 25-year-old starter was optioned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre following the team’s 7-5 loss on Friday. In that game, German (2-6, 5.68 ERA) lasted just 3.2 innings, and allowed four runs on five hits and two walks while striking out three.
