The Yankees announced a roster move prior to Tuesday night’s game against the Orioles. The team added right-handed pitcher David Hale to the roster, and as a corresponding move, optioned Nestor Cortes Jr. to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
Hale, 31, signed with the Yankees as a minor league free agent in late January. As a starter for the Triple-A RailRiders, the right-hander owns a 4.11 ERA (3.89 FIP) with an 8.51 K/9 rate.
You may remember Hale as he had a cup of coffee with the Yankees in 2018.
