The Yankees cannot catch a break on the injury front. A day after activating Gary Sanchez but sending Jonathan Holder to the injured list, the team announced they had placed left-hander Stephen Tarpley on the IL. They also called up pitchers Brady Lail and Joe Mantiply.
Tarpley just made an appearance as a “follower” behind Chad Green yesterday, totaling 2.1 innings and allowing two runs, striking out four. He has an 8.24 ERA on the season, having fanned 24 in 19.2 innings.
