Free-agent reliever Zach Britton and the New York Yankees have reached agreement on a guaranteed three-year deal in the range of $13 million a season, sources told ESPN.
The Yankees can opt into a fourth season after the second year of the deal, sources said. If the team chooses not to, Britton can opt out after the second year.
Britton, 31, was 2-0 with seven saves and 34 strikeouts over 40u2154 innings in 41 relief appearances last season for the Baltimore Orioles and Yankees, who acquired him for three prospects at the July 31 non-waiver trade deadline.
