If I’m not mistaken, the last time the Yankees and politics were used in the same sentence was when President Ronald Reagan pardoned Steinbrenner for his convictions in a case involving campaign donations to President Richard Nixon and other politicians. That was not a shining moment in Yankees history, and neither is this move by Cashman.
Understand, this has nothing to do with the qualifications (or lack thereof) of Gorsuch to hold this lifetime position as a Supreme Court Justice. But it has everything to do with the fact that Brian Cashman’s job is to be the General Manager of the New York Yankees.
