CHICAGO — One win over a dreadful team doesn’t mean the Yankees have escaped the worst funk of the season that has dropped them to the fringe of contention for the AL East title.
Nor does watching Lance Lynn dominate a White Sox lineup mean he is ready to lead the Yankees out of the wilderness they stumbled around Boston in over the weekend.
Yet, losing streaks have to stop somewhere and possibly turn into the beginning of a winning stretch so the Yankees’ 7-0 victory over the putrid White Sox on Monday night in front of 22,084 at Guaranteed Rate Field halted a five-game losing streak, the longest of the year for the Yankees.
