Yankees blister ball after ball in another surprising onslaught

Perhaps the Orioles were hung over from Friday night’s debacle, when they flushed an eight-run lead, because they sure looked like they could have used a pitcher of Pedialyte on Saturday afternoon at Yankee Stadium.

Having used five relievers the previous evening, the Orioles had their fingers firmly crossed Ubaldo Jimenez could provide distance and quality.

The right-hander did neither, and the Yankees used two homers from Brett Gardner, and one each from Austin Romine and Aaron Judge to whip the lifeless Birds, 12-4, at Yankee Stadium.

A second straight shower of power overshadowed a good, but not great, outing from Michael Pineda.
