Yankees Beat Rangers On 9th-Inning Passed Ball

NEW YORK -- Chase Headley scored the winning run on a passed ball with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning, giving the New York Yankees a 2-1 victory over the Texas Rangers on Thursday afternoon.

The Yankees picked up their fourth walk-off win of the season and reached .500 (39-39) for the seventh time since May 22 when Headley slid home as Tony Barnette's 1-1 pitch to Jacoby Ellsbury went off catcher Robinson Chirinos' glove and toward the backstop.

The winning rally began when Headley drew a walk and was sacrificed to second by Didi Gregorius.
