Yankees bats go quiet for first shutout loss in more than a year

After serving up plenty of late drama the previous two days in The Bronx, the Yankees ran out of rallies on Monday in a 7-0 loss to the Rangers.

In the process, a lineup that hadn’t been shut out in more than a year finally saw its 220-game streak snapped. It was the second longest streak since 1900, trailing only the 308-game streak set by the 1931-33 Yankees.

And while they came up with back-to-back walk-off wins over the weekend thanks to homers by DJ LeMahieu and Mike Ford, they fell short Monday, after the start of the game was delayed by nearly three hours due to rain.
