Gary Sanchez’s strained right groin is feeling better than he anticipated, but the catcher has yet to run since being placed on the disabled list.
Since Sanchez is expected to be out two to three more weeks, Aaron Boone said they could wait until after the All-Star Game to bring him back.
“Hopefully around the All-Star break, give or take, is what the timetable is for him,’’ the manager said.
The Yankees are likely to go with Austin Romine and Kyle Higashioka until then.
Romine left Saturday’s loss with a cramp in his left leg.
