NEW YORK -- Mark Canha lined a run-scoring single just past the reach of shortstop Didi Gregorius, helping to lift the Athletics to a 3-2 victory over the Yankees in 11 innings on Tuesday night at Yankee Stadium.
Canha's hit came off rookie Johnny Barbato, who retired the first four batters he faced before Jed Lowrie doubled for his fourth hit, coming around to score the decisive run. The victory was credited to Fernando Rodriguez, who hurled two scoreless innings around a hit. Ryan Madson worked the home half of the 11th to pick up his fifth save.
