Alex Rodriguez resolved one of the remaining loose ends from his Biogenesis suspension last week when he settled a lawsuit filed by a firm that claimed the Yankee slugger owed it hundreds of thousands of dollars in unpaid legal bills.
Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani settled its lawsuit with Rodriguez on Nov. 9, according to papers filed in New York Supreme Court.
Gordon Rees attorney Peter Siachos said the suit was settled “amicably” but declined further comment.
Gordon Rees said it played a significant role in the arbitration defense that resulted in the reduction of Rodriguez’s 211-game suspension to 162 games, but the firm claimed in a lawsuit filed in 2014 that A-Rod refused to pay more than $380,000 in legal fees.
