Aaron Hicks and CC Sabathia are officially back.
The two Yankees veterans were named to the Yankees’ 25-man ALCS roster Saturday morning, hours ahead of Game 1 against the Astros at 8 p.m. ET in Houston.
Luke Voit and Tyler Wade were left off to make room for Sabathia (shoulder) and Hicks (flexor strain), who had been considered a longshot to play in the postseason after his throwing program was shut down last month.
But the center fielder, who has been out since early August, began throwing again at his home in Phoenix “despite the recommendations,” GM Brian Cashman told reporters earlier this week.
