Dellin Betances is shut down and he won’t be back for quite some time now that a lat injury has surfaced.
The right-hander’s extended absence has only highlighted the importance of Adam Ottavino, who the Yankees signed during the offseason to improve an already strong bullpen.
Ottavino has delivered in his first season in The Bronx, having just had an 18-appearance (17¹/u2083-inning) scoreless streak snapped Sunday in Cleveland.
But he’s not totally satisfied with his start with the Yankees.
“I’m happy with the overall runs that I’ve allowed, but process-wise, it could have been better,’’ Ottavino said.
