Yankees acquire veteran slugger Kendrys Morales from the A’s

The Yankees have acquired Kendrys Morales on Tuesday from the Oakland A’s in exchange for a player to be named later, the team announced. Cash considerations will also be swapped between the two clubs.

The veteran Morales plays first base and is also a DH.

To make room on the 40-man roster, RHP Jonathan Loaisiga has been transferred to the 60-day IL.

Morales played 34 games with the A’s this season and is hitting .204 with a homer and seven RBIs. Morales has 212 career home runs and had over 20 in each of the past four season.
