TAMPA -- In the offseason, the Yankees talked about slugging right fielders Giancarlo Stanton and Aaron Judge each seeing time in left field.
So far, Stanton has been the only one facing real tests, having made four spring training starts at the position. Judge? None.
Until Saturday. Kind of.
Judge will play left field in a low-level minor-league game at the team's player development complex, manager Aaron Boone said before Friday's 2-0 loss to the Astros at George M. Steinbrenner Field.
Judge won't hit in the game, Boone said.
